10 Things to Know to Keep Your Pet Safe this 4th of July!
The 4th of July Holiday is a celebration, but it can be dangerous for pets who are spooked by fireworks. Because one out of three pets will go missing at some point in their lifetime, Charleston Animal Society is teaming up with Petco Love Lost to keep animal safe.
PICK ME! SC: SOUTH CAROLINA’S STATEWIDE ADOPTION EVENT BREAKS RECORD!
Pick Me! SC was a huge success, with 51 animal rescue shelters and Petco locations around the state opening their doors for pet adoptions June 18 – 27. The 2021 goal was to save 1,500 lives through adoptions and as the final adoption tally rolled in, the number of adoptions climbed to 1,723.

Animal shelters and rescues across South Carolina are reporting they are at or over capacity, just as the Pick Me! SC statewide adoption enters its homestretch through Sunday.
Kitten’s Leg is Amputated After She is Found Stuck in a Wheel Well
A one month old, one pound, kitten arrived after she was found with her front left paw lodged in a wheel well in a car on Wadmalaw Island. After having her leg amputated she is learning how to thrive in life with three legs.

Peony Pushes Through Multiple Medical Obstacles
