FOUR ANIMAL SHELTERS HONORED AROUND SOUTH CAROLINA

Four animal shelters from around the state received awards from No Kill South Carolina’s Pick Me! SC statewide adoption event.  The recipients of the first-ever “Most Pawductive” Awards were shelters that did the best job engaging their supporters to come into the shelter and adopt during Pick Me!

Charleston Animal Society Partners with Crews Subaru and the ASPCA to provide the love and support every pet deserves

That’s why as part of their annual #SubaruLovesPets month, Crews Subaru is helping our animals find loving homes by donating $100 for every pet adopted throughout October.* They’ll even be showing a little extra love and support to the older, physically challenged, last-to-be-chosen dogs they lovingly call the “Underdogs,” who often spend their whole lives waiting to be adopted.

149th Celebration of Lifesaving Success

Charleston Animal Society’s 149th Celebration of Lifesaving Success took place Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Hotel Indigo in Mount Pleasant. Highlights included special awards, a look back at how Charleston Animal Society led the way to Charleston County becoming the first No Kill Community in the Southeast 10 years ago. President and CEO Joe Elmore also gave a state of the organization address, which included an update on the planned campus expansion.

The Charleston Regional Business Journal is hosting their 2023 Reader Rankings Awards, and Charleston Animal Society has been honored to be nominated in the running for Best-Non Profit! Voting is easy and will run Tuesday, August 15 to Friday, September 29.

21-YEAR-OLD EMACIATED HORSE RESCUED IN RAVENEL

 A 21-year-old emaciated horse is recovering after being rescued August 9th. A Charleston County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a property on Jacksonboro, Rd. in Ravenel, after an eyewitness called to report concerns about the horse’s condition.

Voting Opens for 2023 Rescue Brew

You can now vote for your favorite dog or cat in the  Fourth Annual Rescue Brew Beer Spokesdog and Spokescat star search! Winners will appear on the labels of the “2023 Rescue Brew Beer” from Palmetto Brewing Company. 541 Pet owners entered their dogs or cats at CharlestonAnimalSociety.org/RescueBrew and voting continues until September 15th.
