A 3-month old, 2.5-pound kitten arrived at Charleston Animal Society a couple weeks ago with severe injuries to his back legs. Our veterinary team will amputate his back left leg and our administrative staff is helping him socialize as an office foster.
A mom and her 3 one-week-old puppies arrived at the shelter this week. The sweet mother dog is being treated for several medical complications while the puppies receive round-the-clock care at a wonderful foster home.
Pick Me! SC was a huge success, with 51 animal rescue shelters and Petco locations around the state opening their doors for pet adoptions June 18 – 27. The 2021 goal was to save 1,500 lives through adoptions and as the final adoption tally rolled in, the number of adoptions climbed to 1,723.
A one month old, one pound, kitten arrived after she was found with her front left paw lodged in a wheel well in a car on Wadmalaw Island. After having her leg amputated she is learning how to thrive in life with three legs.
Peony was found as a stray with a painful injury from an embedded collar. When she arrived at the shelter, our veterinary team found more medical complications with this sweet 6-year-old that we are helping her face now.
