Charleston Animal Society, the first animal protection organization in South Carolina and one of the oldest in the nation, proudly announces its upcoming Sesquicentennial year in 2024. For 150 years, this remarkable community institution has been dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals and providing a legacy of care.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the 20s later this week and Charleston Animal Society is urging pet owners to take precautions to protect companion animals and livestock.
2024 LIFESAVING LEXUS RAFFLE
Charleston Animal Society unveiled its sixth annual lifesaving car raffle on New Year’s Day! This year, one lucky winner will receive a 2024 Lexus TX 500h F Sport Luxury Vehicle. All proceeds go to the animals thanks to Hank and Laurel Greer who have purchased the Lexus for the raffle.
FIREWORKS SPOOK ANIMALS
When fireworks start flying to celebrate the New Year, dogs and cats start running in fear. Each year, Charleston Animal Society sees several missing animals turning up on its doorsteps, so people are urge to keep pets indoors and on leashes as the New Year celebrations begin.
