COUNT ON 2, HILL’S PET NUTRITION, CHARLESTON ANIMAL SOCIETY AND SHELTERS ACROSS THE LOWCOUNTRY ARE “CLEARING THE SHELTERS” SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH! 

Join us Saturday, September 18th for a big Clear the Shelter celebration, filled with food, fun and animals! We also want to thank our local sponsors: Lodi Coffee, Krispy Kreme West Ashley, East Bay Deli,  PostNet Mt. Pleasant, and Cupcake DownSouth.

There is no cost to adopt any animal, thanks to the generosity of Hank and Laurel Greer. CLICK HERE to check out our adoptable animals.

At Charleston Animal Society, each adoption will include a goody bag from Hills Science Diet with coupons and supplies, as well as a bag of Science Diet Food. All adopted pets have been examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, microchipped, tested for heartworms, or feline leukemia, and updated on core vaccinations.

“The timing for the Clear the Shelter event could not be more perfect,” said Charleston Animal Society President and CEO Joe Elmore, CFRE, CAWA “For the past month, shelters across the state have faced a state of emergency and this event will help tremendously.”

Charleston Animal Society is reaching out to shelters in the Lowcountry, the Midlands and the Upstate to bring in kittens for adoption on Saturday. “These transports are designed to help these shelters who have been struggling all summer,” said No Kill South Carolina 2024 Chief Project Officer Abigail Appleton, CPM, CAWA.

Local businesses are also stepping in to make this Saturday’s event at Charleston Animal Society festive. Local sponsors include: Lodi Coffee, Krispy Kreme West Ashley, East Bay Deli,  PostNet Mt. Pleasant, and Cupcake DownSouth.

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, masks are required in the shelter.
