Charleston Animal Society is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society, a leading animal welfare organization working to end the killing of cats and dogs in shelters by 2025, for the fifth National Adoption Weekend happening June 30-July 2.

Celebrity Paws in the Park a Smashing Success for Charleston Animal Society

Over 3,200 people and their pets participated in raising needed funds and community awareness for Charleston Animal Society this past weekend, Saturday, June 10 2023, at Riverfront Park for Celebrity Paws in the Park presented by Crews Subaru. The event raised a gross total of $479,290.00 with cash and in-kind donations to support the lifesaving work of Charleston Animal Society.

GET PAID TO FOSTER AND FIND A DOG A HOME!

With the continuing influx of large dogs, Charleston Animal Society has created a new strategy to save the lives of more adult animals. If you foster a large adult dog and find it a home within 30 days, you will receive $150 as soon as it goes home. If after 30 days you are not able to find the dog a home you can still receive $150.

MILITARY FAMILIES ENTER FREE AT CELEBRITY PAWS IN THE PARK

Charleston Animal Society is proud to announce that military members (veterans and active duty) and their families can enjoy FREE ENTRY to Celebrity Paws in the Park presented by Crews Subaru! Thanks to the Rachael Ray Foundation, veterans and active duty military just need to show their military ID to gain admission for two adults (children 12 and under are free).

FREE DOG ADOPTIONS CONTINUE

Charleston Animal Society continues its emergency relief effort with FREE DOG ADOPTIONS this week as the shelter remains overcrowded with homeless dogs. Internet sensations Johnathan Lower and his dog Teddy stepped in to help with their @aguyandagolden “Shelter Saturday” video that highlights homeless dogs looking for families.

Oxbow Animal Health Promotes “Other Animal” Adoptions

The “Happy Hutch” adoption enclosure is open for business. The new lifesaving adoption housing features specially designed viewing enclosures. Its dynamic, ventilated, and well-lit space can house up to 8 sweet animals such as rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, hamsters, and rats thanks to an Oxbow Animal Health capital grant.
