We did it!
More than 1,600 animals adopted, December 4 – 13
Just in time for the holidays, animal shelters and rescues across South Carolina joined together and found homes for more than 1,600 homeless cats and dogs!
The event was organized by No Kill South Carolina, a program of Charleston Animal Society. Pick Me! SC is sponsored by the Petco Foundation and Bobs by Skechers.
Thanks to you, a homeless pet was adopted in South Carolina EVERY 9 MINUTES during Pick Me! SC event.
Shelters across the state are offered FREE or LOW-FEE adoptions and this lifesaving strategy worked. Thanks to the hundreds of you, who opened your hearts and gave a homeless pet a new home for the holidays. The goal for the project was 1,500 adoptions.
Long-Term Impact of Pick Me! SC
Previous Pick Me! SC statewide adoption events have resulted in more than 3,000 adopted animals. For many people, the event is the first time they will visit their local shelters, hopefully the start of a long-term relationship with these important community resources.
“Petco and the Petco Foundation are proud to take part in this event. When we all work together, there is no limit to what we can do for pets in need,” said Petco District Leader, Robert Tuttle.
