PET PORTRAITS FOR A CAUSE

Want to support Charleston Animal Society AND local students?  Want an adorable portrait of your best furry friend?  Look no further! We are thrilled to be partnering with middle school students from East Cooper Montessori School in their initiative to fundraise for a good cause!  These students, who are art majors at ECMCS, want to paint an adorable portrait of YOUR pet in order to raise money to support the lifesaving work at Charleston Animal Society!

Cat Who Walks on Two Legs Finds Home

Have you ever seen a cat walk on his two front legs? Well that’s Pogue the cat’s reality. This affectionate 3-year-old tabby was born with a congenital deformity that makes him unable to use his hind legs. Part of his tail was amputated after it was discovered he had previously fractured it.

In order to find homes for each animal in our care during the busiest time of the year for animal shelters statewide, we’ve launched the Summer Slam Emergency Operation — offering fee-waived adoptions on all animals six-months and older.
