Raising Readers
Calling all readers! The shelter environment can be very stressful for our animals. Between the constant flow of new faces, smells, and noises, they could really use a break from all of the commotion. That’s where you come in!
Our Raising Readers program, sponsored by Raising Cane’s, provides animals with much-needed quiet time. This interaction gives them time to relax and enjoy a story (they love looking at the pictures)! Animals also make the best judgment-free audience for readers still mastering their skills. Readers of all levels are welcome!
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Availability: Monday-Friday, 12:00-2:30 pm
- Ages: 5+
- Cost: $5 per session (includes Raising Cane’s swag)
Each child MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the visit. Both the participant and chaperone are required to watch our orientation video prior to their visit.
To schedule a reading session for your child:
- Please click the button below to complete payment and registration for each participating child.
- Following payment, you will receive a confirmation email with details on how to schedule a date and time.
Please note: Reading sessions must be scheduled. If payment is received and a session is not scheduled, your child will not be able to read.
