Our Adoption Stories Will Make You Smile
There’s nothing like a happy adoption story to lift your spirits during these uncertain times in the world. Last year alone 6,161 animals found new homes through Charleston Animal Society. Not all of the animals turning to the organization for help started out with happy stories. Many were lost or abandoned. Some animals were injured or abused. But somehow, people just like you reached out and gave each of them a second chance at happiness.
Maxine Finds Love at 100
Out of the 229 adoptions during the Clear the Shelters Crescendo event at Charleston Animal Society, Maxine Pearson’s stood out. At 100 Years Old, Maxine was looking for a new cat after the loss of her 18-year-old feline four months ago. When she laid eyes on “Sweet Tea,” Maxine knew she had to have her. Maxine loved the adoption experience and encourages everyone to get a pet, for a long, happy, healthy life! Cheers to Maxine and her new furry friend.
