CHARLESTON ANIMAL SOCIETY’S “MISSION PAWSIBLE” GALA CELEBRATED THE SOCIETY’S 150TH ANNIVERSARY
The Gala was a night filled with “spies” and intrigue.
A big thank you to everyone who attended Charleston Animal Society’s highly anticipated annual Gala, “Mission Pawsible,” held on October 12, 2024, at the Charleston Gaillard Center.
Almost 500 people enjoyed a dazzling evening of celebration and fundraising while marking the 150th anniversary of Charleston Animal Society’s commitment to preventing cruelty to animals.
Inspired by the action-packed Mission Impossible franchise, “Mission Pawsible” delivered a night of intrigue, adventure, and heroic feats, all in the name of saving lives. More than $650,000 (gross) was raised at the lifesaving event.
The Charleston Gaillard Center transformed into a secret headquarters for the night, complete with a sophisticated and mysterious atmosphere reminiscent of beloved espionage films. Attendees were treated to a spectacular evening featuring a gourmet dinner, live entertainment, and a dynamic auction, all while supporting a cause that is close to the hearts of Charleston residents. Guests enjoyed a live performance of spies and spy chasers from Out on a Limb Circus Arts.
“Every year, our gala is a chance to make a significant impact, but this year was particularly special as we celebrated our 150th anniversary,” said Gala Chair Cara Bibbiani. “Our mission is more than just a pledge; it’s a promise to every animal in Charleston County and beyond that they will receive the care and love they deserve. ‘Mission Pawsible’ was about rallying our community to complete this critical mission.”
The success of the Gala was made possible through the generous support of Presenting Sponsors Hank & Laurel Greer and Fetch Pet Insurance. Platinum Sponsors included: Ella Ora, Marbled & Fin, W.B. Henry Contracting, Caroline Clark, Ellen & Ed Harley, Valerie Luther, The McDaniel Family Foundation, Arlene Morris & Colin John Campi, Louise & Walter Palmer, Karen Sadik-Khan, and an Anonymous Friend of Animals. Their commitment ensured that Charleston Animal Society can continue its vital work and make a lasting difference in the lives of approximately 20,000 animals each year.
In true Mission Impossible fashion, attendees embraced their inner secret agents with creative attire that fit the evening’s theme. The combination of sleek and daring outfits added to the excitement, making the night unforgettable.
