Cruelty has spiraled out of control to the point Charleston Animal Society is dedicating the entire month of August to the cause. You can join the “31 Days to End Cruelty” campaign by making a gift and having your donation double.
PickMe! SC REACHES 10,000 ADOPTIONS
Pick Me! SC reached a benchmark with adoption #10,0000 during its 2023 effort. "This is our sixth statewide adoption campaign and cumulatively, we have now adopted 10,000 animals across South Carolina," Chief Project Officer of No Kill South Carolina 2024, Abigail Appleton, PMP, CAWA. "To reach this milestone is a testament to the teamwork that we are seeing across shelters, rescues and Petco Pet Care Centers to make South Carolina a great place for pets to live."
Charleston Animal Society Issues Heat Emergency Warning
Charleston Animal Society is issuing a heat alert for all companion and working animals. This week the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Lowcountry, due to temperatures climbing up near 100 degrees. According to the University of Kentucky, heat stress will reach the EMERGENCY level during daytime hours throughout this week.
