Best Friends National Adoptions Weekend Returns

Charleston Animal Society is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society, a leading animal welfare organization working to end the killing of cats and dogs in shelters by 2025, for the fifth National Adoption Weekend happening June 30-July 2.

Paws in the Park 2024

Paws in the Park presented by Crews Subaru is the largest community fundraising event of the year for Charleston Animal Society! Plan to sit, stay and play all in our various activity zones, enjoy craft beer partake in our Chili Cook-Off and Oyster Roast, listen to live music, and so much more. It’s an event for all ages as our community celebrates Charleston Animal Society’s 150th Anniversary together!

GET PAID TO FOSTER AND FIND A DOG A HOME!

With the continuing influx of large dogs, Charleston Animal Society has created a new strategy to save the lives of more adult animals. If you foster a large adult dog and find it a home within 30 days, you will receive $150 as soon as it goes home. If after 30 days you are not able to find the dog a home you can still receive $150.

Charleston Animal Society continues its emergency relief effort with FREE DOG ADOPTIONS this week as the shelter remains overcrowded with homeless dogs. Internet sensations Johnathan Lower and his dog Teddy stepped in to help with their @aguyandagolden "Shelter Saturday" video that highlights homeless dogs looking for families.

Oxbow Animal Health Promotes "Other Animal" Adoptions

The "Happy Hutch" adoption enclosure is open for business. The new lifesaving adoption housing features specially designed viewing enclosures. Its dynamic, ventilated, and well-lit space can house up to 8 sweet animals such as rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, hamsters, and rats thanks to an Oxbow Animal Health capital grant.
