Help the Animals Win a Defender!

Charleston Animal Society is a finalist to win a 2024 Land Rover Defender to help transport animals.

For the second year in a row, Charleston Animal Society is a national finalist in the Land Rover “Defender Service Awards.”  The awards honor nonprofits making an impact in their communities. The organization was recognized for its lifesaving work that touches the lives of more than 15,000 animals each year. As a finalist, Charleston Animal Society could win a new Land Rover Defender for the organization’s animal disaster response efforts.

WHAT ARE THE DEFENDER SERVICE AWARDS

Inspired by endless acts of service across the U.S. and Canada from extraordinary citizens, Land Rover launched the ‘Defender Service Awards’ last year to celebrate U.S. and Canadian-based charitable organizations that are making a positive impact in their local community. To honor the legacy of Defender vehicles aiding organizations who serve their communities, Land Rover will award a specially outfitted Land Rover Defender 130 SUV to the five winning organizations based on Public Vote, to help further their charitable efforts, plus $25,000 from the category sponsor.

Charleston Animal Society submitted a video showcasing how a new Defender would help build capacity for the organization’s emergency transports of animals across the Southeastern United States. “At Charleston Animal Society, we have a reputation as road warriors,” said Charleston Animal Society Vice President of Operations and Strategy Aldwin Roman, CAWA. “We respond to calls for help in hurricanes, floods and horrific large-scale cruelty operations. A new Defender would help us reach animals that are caught in difficult places.

“Through their compassionate acts of service and integrity,it is with great honor that we recognize these organizations that embody the heroism of Defender,” said Charlotte Blank, US Chief Marketing Officer, Jaguar Land Rover North America. “The Defender ethos is centered around achieving the impossible with a focus on giving back, and these organizations are nothing short of that. We are proud to celebrate their extraordinary achievements and dedication to their missions”
