ANIMAL HEROES: FUR THE LOVE OF RUFUS

On June 1, Rufus, a five-year-old shih tzu mix, was found running the streets of Mount Pleasant with such thick matts of fur that it was difficult for him to see or even move normally. Rufus was in clear discomfort from his condition; often pausing to chew and lick incessantly at the knots of fur that covered his small body.
Shortly after being brought to the shelter, he was booked for a special last minute appointment with friends of the shelter, Barks N Bubbles Pet Salon, where a pile of fur almost as big as Rufus himself was removed.
Rufus was completely transformed and later went home the following week to a loving family. Check out the pictures below to see his full transformation!
