GET PAID TO FOSTER AND FIND A DOG A HOME!

Charleston Animal Society new strategy aimed at saving homeless adult dogs.

NORTH CHARLESTON –  With the continuing influx of large dogs, Charleston Animal Society has created a new strategy to save the lives of more adult animals.

“We want to encourage the community to come to the shelter, foster and adopt these animals, and in return, we will pay families who help,” said Charleston Animal Society Vice President of Operations and Strategy Aldwin Roman, CAWA.  “If you foster a large adult dog and find it a home within 30 days, you will receive $150 as soon as it goes home. If after 30 days you are not able to find the dog a home you can still receive $150. ”

Charleston Animal Society provides foster families with training, supplies (including crates, bowls, and food) and covers 100% of veterinary care while animals are in foster homes. “We provide all of the support, you supply the roof and the love,” Roman said. “We will even send you weekly emails with tips and tricks, including sample social media posts so you can find these dogs a home.”

For this plan to succeed, Charleston Animal Society needs the community’s help to empty the shelter of 50 large dogs between Wednesday, June 14th and Friday, June 23rd through adoption and fostering.

“We know that most people get their animals from friends and family, and so we know these dogs will have a better chance to find a home while in the homes of families in our community,” said Roman. “Lifesaving is a community-wide effort, and Charleston Animal Society has never needed the community more desperately than we do now.” This is the perfect opportunity for first-time foster families to become involved in lifesaving.
