PETCO LOVE PICK ME! SC RETURNS JUNE 20–29
Get ready for South Carolina’s biggest dog and cat adoption event of the year! From June 20 to June 29, Petco Love Pick Me! SC will ignite a wave of compassion across the state, aiming to find loving homes for 2,500 dogs and cats in just 10 days! This statewide adoption celebration, powered by Petco Love — and organized by Charleston Animal Society’s No Kill South Carolina initiative — unites more than 90 animal shelters, rescue organizations, and Petco pet care centers, making it easy to find your new best friend wherever you live.

LOWCOUNTRY PAWS UNITE: BERKELEY, CHARLESTON AND DORCHESTER SHELTERS ARE SEVERELY OVERCAPACITY
Summer temperatures have hit and Lowcountry animal shelters are facing a critical overcrowding crisis. Dogs and kittens are filling every available kennel. Charleston Animal Society, Berkeley Animal Center, and Dorchester Paws are joining forces to launch their second annual lifesaving adoption event, Lowcountry Paws Unite, offering great adoption deals on all animals now through Sunday.

BERKELEY COUNTY AND CHARLESTON ANIMAL SOCIETY ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP TO MANAGE BERKELEY ANIMAL CENTER
In a bold step to enhance animal welfare services and prepare for regional growth, Charleston Animal Society has entered into a partnership with Berkeley County to manage operations at the Berkeley Animal Center. The Berkeley County Council voted to approve the partnership at the county council meeting on May 27, 2025.
