YALLFest, Charleston’s annual Young Adult Literature Festival, is celebrating its 15th year! Founded by Jonathan Sanchez, owner of Blue Bicycle Books on King Street, this beloved local nonprofit event brings thousands of readers, authors, and publishers to downtown Charleston each November.
Over the course of the weekend, attendees enjoy author signings, engaging panels, special publisher events, and creative activations throughout the city. Festival venues include Blue Bicycle Books, The American Theater, Charleston Music Hall, The Charleston Museum, the Charleston County Public Library, and more.
The event is made possible through the generous support of book publishers from across the country, many of whom host interactive booths at The Charleston Museum featuring book giveaways, games, and exclusive swag.
This year, Entangled Publishing is partnering with a Charleston Animal Society to bring adoptable animals to their booth as part of a themed activation tied to one of their upcoming book releases. The animals will be hosted in a playpen under a tented, walled booth, with a managed line for visitors to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for both guests and the animals.
