Celebrity Paws in the Park presented by Crews Subaru is the most important education and fundraising event of the year for Charleston Animal Society! Join thousands of humans and their canine companions at Riverfront Park, 1061 Everglades Avenue, North Charleston, SC on Saturday, March 19, 2022 for a timed 5K “Race for the Rescues” or a 5 K9 “Fun Run” or walk. Then plan to sit, stay and play all day in six activity zones throughout the park, including Dock Dogs® diving competition, pet adoptions, food truck rally and Rescue Brew Beer.

Travis Brorsen

Travis Brorsen, celebrity dog trainer and winner of the hit reality show on CBS television, “Greatest American Dog,” will be live on stage for fun-filled education shows specifically for kids about dogs.  On “My Big Fat Pet Makeover,” Travis’ current show for Animal Planet, Travis works with families to develop healthy eating and exercise routines for animals and their families.  A special “Couch to 5K” training program will launch on January 1st, 2022 in partnership with Roper Saint Francis Hospital.  People and pets who sign up to participate in the “Couch to 5K” program will be led through a routine that will prepare the human and dog teams to walk or run in the 5-K9 event.

Dock Dogs®

The world famous Dock Dogs® dog diving competitions, that you have probably seen at the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, will be adding to its tour schedule by having a full-day of high energy contests at the 2022 Celebrity Paws in the Park event.  Even non-professional canine athletes will be able to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience! DockDogs® is an organization about having fun and celebrates every improvement with our competitors, staff, sponsors, and spectators.  See these incredible canine athletes and their human counterparts firsthand at Paws in the Park.

Pet Adoption Zone

The Pet Adoption Zone, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, will have lots of furry friends from Charleston Animal Society looking for new homes. All of our pets are seen by a veterinarian and spayed, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before they are adopted. You may just go home with a new canine companion or feline friend!

Pet Health & Wellness Zone

A healthy pet is a happy pet. The Pet Health & Wellness Zone will provide free and low-cost necessities like rabies vaccinations and microchips for your pets. We can also help you set up your FREE Petco Love Lost account. Petco Love Lost is the largest facial recognition database for cats and dogs and it helps pet owners reconnect with their lost pets.

Food Truck Rally

Of course, there will be lots of food and drink at the Food Truck Rally but the most exciting part of this activity zone is the debut of the official “RescueBrew Beer” from Palmetto Brewing Company.  You’ll be among the first to see 2021 Spokesdog Winner Pippin and 2021 Spokescat Winner Sirri on the labels of this crisp and refreshing small batch brew that has just hint of sweetness – just like any rescued pet!
