Harvey Needs a Home

Harvey is in desperate need of a loving home. Last year Harvey, named because he was found on Harvey Avenue near I-26 and Azalea Avenue, arrived at Charleston Animal Society with severe burns covering his body. Our lifesaving team rescued him from what seemed to be an animal cruelty situation.

Harvey has spent most of the past year in a wonderful, loving home. However, sometimes life does not always go as planned and his adoptive family had to return him to the shelter, at no fault of Harvey or his family.

After weeks of being in the shelter, Harvey badly needs and wants a home to call his own.  Harvey is full of love, but tends to be easily overstimulated and full of energy, requiring lots of exercise, playtime and consistent training. Harvey will also need to be the only pet in the home, but don’t worry, he has a lot of love to offer. He would be great for an active single person or couple looking for a companion.

We are dedicated to finding Harvey a wonderful home and adequate resources for his behavioral needs, so we will be providing six weeks of training, two times per week, for the family who adopts him.

If you or someone you know is interested in meeting Harvey, please email behavior@CharlestonAnimalSociety.org or call our team at (843) 747-4849 x-1527 for a consultation!
