DESCRIPTION:National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer\, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore\, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Neighborhoods host block parties\, festivals\, parades\, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations\, seminars\, youth events\, visits from emergency personnel\, exhibits and much\, much more. The only rule for participating is that nothing can be sold for profit at the event.

DESCRIPTION:The James Island Connector Run (JICR) provides one of the most scenic race routes in the Southeast and one of the most challenging courses in the Lowcountry! Overlooking the beautiful Ashley River and the historic downtown peninsula of Charleston\, this new route-new distance 8K Run and 5K Run/Walk goes across the James Island Connector from the James Island side of the river\, staying on the connector with no exit ramps. The post-race festival will include a finishers medal\, and food at the finish line.
