Project BARK (Be Aware, Responsible, and Kind) Classroom Programs

Each year, Charleston Animal Society teaches compassion programming to thousands of children in the Lowcountry.  These programs incorporate social-emotional learning themes into each lesson and are highly effective due to their unique ability to incorporate animals.

As you can imagine, the past few years have taken an emotional toll on the mental health of both students and teachers.  As you may know, animals have the ability to brighten one’s day.  Studies show that the presence of an animal can alleviate stress and anxiety, boost your mood, and ease loneliness.

Participate in our “Sponsor a Classroom” program to provide Project BARK programming to children in the Lowcountry!
